Young Israel of Deerfield Beach Honors Devoted Members at Annual Luncheon

Michael Tannenbaum

The Young Israel of Deerfield Beach (YIDB) held its much-anticipated annual luncheon, celebrating the dedication and contributions of its esteemed members. This year’s honorees included Ruby and Beth Blumenthal, Richard and Nina Graber, and Eli and Rena Okun—six individuals who have played vital roles in the life of the congregation.

Temple President Lou Safren praised the honorees, stating, “In their own ways, each of them has established themselves as examples of true leadership and devotion to our organization.” Their unwavering commitment to YIDB has helped sustain and grow the temple’s vibrant community.

A treasured institution in Century Village East, the Young Israel of Deerfield Beach has long been a gathering place for worship, education, and social connection. Located just outside the Century Village East gates, the synagogue offers a range of services, including daily and weekly religious services, classes, lectures, films, and social events that cater to a wide range of interests.

For those who have yet to participate in Jewish religious and communal activities, YIDB extends a warm welcome. The synagogue provides assistance with prayers, Hebrew reading, and general religious guidance to ensure that every member feels comfortable and included.

Anyone interested in joining the Young Israel community is encouraged to stop by the office and speak with Membership Chairman Michael Tannenbaum at (646) 258-8545 or President Lou Safren at (347) 640-2499.
