Temple B’nai Shalom Builds Community on Land and Sea

Temple B’nai Shalom members, along with friends and family, embarked on a Princess Cruise in January, sailing to San Juan, St. Thomas, and Princess Cay. The weeklong adventure was filled with exploration, relaxation, and camaraderie, reinforcing the temple’s commitment to community both at sea and at home.
San Juan and St. Thomas provided opportunities to experience the rich history and culture of the Caribbean, while a private tour of the historic synagogue in St. Thomas offered a meaningful connection to Jewish heritage. At Princess Cay, members enjoyed a day at the beach, soaking in the tropical beauty. Onboard, the group organized private gatherings, including a '50s and '60s sing-along and a lively version of Family Feud, bringing laughter and fun to their time at sea. Each evening, they gathered for dinner, strengthening friendships and creating new bonds. The experience was so successful that another cruise is already planned for January 2026 aboard the Celebrity Silhouette.
Back on land, Temple B’nai Shalom continues to offer meaningful spiritual and social connections. The temple holds weekly Friday evening services at Le Club’s Activity Center, welcoming non-Orthodox Jews from the area. In addition to observing all major Jewish holidays, the synagogue places a strong emphasis on community-building through social events and celebrations.
One of the temple’s most anticipated upcoming events is its Passover Seder, led by Cantor Mitchell Martin, on Saturday, April 12, at 5 PM in the Century Village Party Room. The evening will feature a traditional Seder service and a full kosher-style meal, including Matzoh Ball Soup, Gefilte Fish, Chopped Liver, and a choice of Roast Chicken, Brisket, or Salmon, served with vegetables, potato kugel, and a Passover dessert. The cost is $60 for members and $70 for non-members.
