New to CVE: Quilt Club Stitches Together Creativity and Community

On December 16, 2024, the CVE Quilt Club was officially established, bringing together a group of creative residents with a passion for sewing and quilting. At the inaugural meeting, Roseann Huddleston and Alice Santiago were elected President and Vice-President, respectively. The 25 attendees also voted to appoint three additional officers to form the club’s Executive Committee.
For years, the sewing room in the Clubhouse (GP-X) has provided residents with access to sewing machines, but this past year brought significant upgrades. CenClub replaced the aging Singer machines with state-of-the-art Brother sewing machines and renovated the space to better support quilters and sewing enthusiasts.
Roseann and Alice, instrumental in developing the club, have already introduced a robust program of quilting activities. These include a variety of quilting courses, workshops for those new to sewing, and training on operating the new sewing machines. Additionally, the Quilt Club is planning field trips to local quilt shops and quilt shows to further inspire members.
The club meets weekly on Monday afternoons from 1:30 to 3:00 PM, and residents are encouraged to drop in to explore the activities. For more information, contact Roseann Huddleston at rhuddl1928@yahoo.com or Alice Santiago at alsantiago@comcast.net.
With year-round activities and a focus on fostering creativity and community, the CVE Quilt Club promises to be an exciting addition to the Village.
