CVE Tennis Club’s ‘Winter Carnival’ Serves Up Fun Despite Chilly Weather

Peter Silberman

Braving the coldest day of the season, nearly 200 members of the CVE Tennis Club gathered on January 22, 2025, at Quiet Waters Park for the club’s annual BBQ, fittingly named the Winter Carnival. Held under the Bald Eagle Shelter, the event brought together tennis enthusiasts for an afternoon of great food, live music, dancing, and camaraderie.

Despite the chilly temperatures and brisk winds, spirits remained high as attendees enjoyed a well-organized celebration. The event featured live entertainment with four musicians, including club member François Rosa, filling the air with music that kept the dance floor packed. CenClubTennis Pro Ron Perry also made an appearance, mingling with guests and joining in the festivities.

The highlight of the afternoon was a series of prize drawings, where lucky winners took home two tickets to the Miami Open with transportation included, two tickets to the Delray Open for volunteers, a Roger Federer tennis bag, two private lessons with Ron Perry, and a $20 Costco gift card.

The CVE Tennis Club continues to offer a welcoming environment for players of all levels, with plenty of opportunities to play, socialize, and build friendships. Residents interested in joining can contact Didi Lacroix at didifit@gmail.com or visit www.cvetennis.com to complete a membership form.
